After cementing himself as a respected lyricist through his Camry Flows mixtape series, Carolina-based emcee Maurice Lydell shifts from underground wordsmith to mainstream-appealing rapper with the release of "Froze Off."

Produced by Fivio Foreign "Wetty" co-instrumentalist SAMAN, the song finds the EMPIRE-distributed recording artist celebrating success while offering real insight on how to navigate the survivor guilt that comes along with it.

If you weren't already familiar, warm up to Maurice Lydell by streaming his chilly cut "Froze Off" and expect the accompanying visual to drop soon.

Maurice Lydell is an American independent Hip-Hop artist and digital creator celebrated for an authentic, grounded style that delves into the intricacies of race, socioeconomic class, politics, and poverty. His upbringing on a military base in Kings Bay, Georgia, fostered a sense of discipline that persisted through his graduation from Massaponax High School in Fredericksburg, Virginia. While he first discovered a passion for writing at age nine, he stepped away from the craft before eventually committing to a music career in 2017. His debut release, "Black America," garnered critical acclaim for its candid depiction of the contemporary African American experience.

Leveraging that momentum, Maurice utilized classic hip-hop storytelling to craft his signature "Camry Flows" conceptual series. His creative process is influenced by the raw, transparent narratives of icons such as Tupac Shakur, Nipsey Hussle, J. Cole, and DMX. In addition to his musical pursuits, he operates as a digital creator based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
