Let’s talk about how you got into music… I usually ask artists about that “defining” moment that convinced them that music was a party made for them because usually many start things off as a hobby but it later develops into a purpose for a few… So how did you get into music and what was the edging moment that convinced you to go in fully?

Don Gramur: Music was my thing from a very young age. I started writing around 14 years old. Deep down, I always believed that I would be an impact in the music industry. After creating my first professional song in college, I decided to go all in.

What is the one thing you think most makes you unique and stand out as an artist?

Don Gramur: I can make positive music sound amazing and appealing.

How do you measure success – a gold record, over 1-million streams on iTunes, winning Best Hip Hop Album at the SA Music Awards, or is it something more than this?

Don Gramur: Success is actually more simple than this. Success doesn’t have to be some big accomplishment. It can be a simple as getting a project done and out to the public. That makes you successful! Not the size of the accomplishment, and not the reward. The fact that you created something is a cause for celebration.

Looking at your life and career so far, what makes you most proud?

Don Gramur: I’m proud of the fact that I haven’t quit and I’m constantly elevating to new heights.

How do you remain positive and inspired during challenging times?

Don Gramur: By keeping my eyes on the word and off distractions. That is all

Who and what has inspired your journey thus far?

Don Gramur: First, my journey is inspired by the Most High. I’m also inspired by any creators who spread love. This world needs more love.

Last question. How far are you projecting your music? What’s the long-term goal for yourself?

Don Gramur: My music will last a lifetime. People will listen to it many years from now. They will study it and examine it.
