Quentin James whose stage name is “Sargeant Q” or “SGT Q” was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on January 1st 1987 to an Indian mother and a Creole father. James was raised in Providence, Rhode Island from 1988-2000. In 2003 at the age of 16 years old, He joined a GoGo band named “Black Passion” in Largo, Maryland where he later moved in the year 2000. From that year on He knew that he wanted to become a musician and perform all over the world. It was then in the year 2008 that turned his life around. James was founded and signed by a New York label “Capital Hustlers” in which they had offices around the country with one being in Washington, DC. In 2009 He began performing at open mics and special venues alongside popular artists "Fat Trel” and “Logic”. His participation at venues all over DC, MD, and VA landed him with the opportunities he has achieved till this day. James has had a wonderful journey performing in the following states, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, DC, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Since 2017 his music has been aired on multiple internet radio stations including Guam and United Kingdom’s hip-hop/rap stations. In the year 2016 his first mixtape “Black Friday” Produced by SODMG artist “Carson Key” dropped. A year later his second mixtape “Black Friday pt2” Produced by himself dropped. By this time a lot of people all over were trying to figure out just who this artist was! Then it was the year 2018 that he collaborated with his younger brother who is also a producer out of New England and dropped “RI 2 VA” In 2017 he had his first live radio interview with “Ryze Radio” in Washington, DC with another one at “At the Bar Radio” in Maryland. He has also had an interview recently with DJ Getatcha in Atlanta in January of 2018.
