D.Lyte was born and raised in Upstate New York. Since the age of seven, music has always been a passion. As a result of his environment and the struggles he endured, he started writing at the early age of 12. He began producing all of his music from the age of 15, which was the starting point of his career as a artist. D.Lyte experienced his first taste of the music business when he became one of the first Hip Hop artists to develop on Cayuga Records. This creative venture led to music on the radio and opportunities that showcased his musical talents. As a result of his ingenuity, D.Lyte's progression of music and growing fan base led him to MJ Records.
D.Lyte has been ranked top 2 in reverbnation in the NYC area and continues to grow with his music. He has been all over NYC, Upstate NY, Atlantic City, Philadelphia, P.A., and Florida. He has performed at historic places such as B.B.Kings, The Griffin, The Bitter End, Drom, Rockwood Music Hall, The Cutting Room, Webster Hall The Great NY State Fair, Revolution Live, Legendary Dobbs, Club 1800, The Boardwalk in Atlantic City, Headlined at Tropicana Casino, Trump Hotel and more. He has performed at notable shows for Make A Wish Foundation and for The Concerned Citizens of Whitesboro for Stedman Graham. D.Lyte has performed alongside artists such as Rupee and Fetty Wap at Stage Forty8 in NYC with Revolt TV and Power 105.1 FM. He has performed at shows for Fashion Week NY, with designers such as Layana Aguilar, Mason Sylvester and La Creme Modeling Agency.
D.Lyte has made songs that have become school anthems and theme music for hometown friend and now Pro CFFC MMA fighter Josh "Reckless" Mayville. D.Lyte has worked with notable people such as multi award winning Grammy recipient Serge at Platinum Sounds, Celebrity photographer Felix Natal Jr., Russell Santos, along with several DJ's on Sirius XM and NYC's Power 105.1 gaining play on the stations. D.Lyte's hit single "I Need That" was his first to make it to national radio in the spring of 2015. DJ's such as DJ PDub under DJ Envy's playlist have showed love to the hip hop artist on HipHopNation as well as DJ MichaPhoneChecka spinning on Jamie Foxx's "The Foxxhole."
