Willie Ozier, also known by the stage name Lamaar Oziér, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer. Born in Chicago, Illinois, raised in the South Suburbs. Formerly known as Will.O from the duo group J.A.M Team created in 2013, Lamaar plans to release his first solo EP June of 2017 titled, HOME FOR THE SUMMER.
Lamaar quotes, "What makes me different from other artists is that I don’t mind being transparent. As people, we at times can feel ashamed of our temptations, failures, and shortcomings; I say these all help assist in our becoming. I have always been the type to communicate my feelings well to people; music is my way of expressing these feelings.”
Lamaar’s artistry is driven by life experiences, heartbreak, love stories, loss, gain and everyday living as seen by him or those closest to him. His lyrics and melodies are drawn from real emotions and the aspects of life that bring him joy and wrote his pain. Lamaar approaches each track with a fearlessness that enables him to take his sound wherever it needs to go. Above all, the flourishing musician shares that his inspiration is people. He adds, “Ultimately, being able to do what the Creator has made for me to do is the biggest inspiration. As I live to answer the reason for my existence, through learning and experience, I am continually driven by a desire to inspire others to also pursue their appointed purposes.”
