Most artists in the music industry never get the opportunity of exploding from a smaller market, but the phenomenal talents of J KILLZ exceed the boundaries of city-limits! Born as James Cotten in 1984, in a rural town named Oxford, NC, J KILLZ was the oldest of three children, a younger brother and sister. Not only NC, but KILLZ has also lived in most of New England, Virginia and now Florida, so to hear the diversity of his flow comes across complex. The name was derived from the first initial of his name and the nickname "Killa" from his state championship days of wrestling which was shortened to KILLZ, and the name J KILLZ was born. Also once being a state conference football champ, J KILLZ has learned the decipline on how to take the industry over with perfection and strategy.
J KILLZ first started experimenting with rap in high school at one of his partner's beginners set-up studio, which led him to signing with a Boston record label named Emprise Records and launched his first single "ANGEL". His biggest musical influences growing up were Micheal Jackson, NAS, OUTKAST & LUDACRIS.
Making History and becoming a major Hip Hop mogul with multiple businesses are the initial goals for this future conglomerate. J KILLZ is no stranger to the big stage. Being a headline artist for the COAST 2 COAST Tour and by opening up for acts like YOUNG JEEZY, YOUNG DOLPH, MGK, CASSIDY and many more, this seasoned artist has his stage presence on point! The highly anticipated EP entitled "THE KILLZ SWITCH" will be dropping this year and sure to give audiences the pleasure of raw genuine music worldwide. With his song writing abilities, the gift of making timeless music & pushing a unique sound, it's no wonder why many fans are craving the new project. Stay tuned, cause if you miss this campaign of J KILLZ, you are truly missing history in the making!
