Joseph "FlowGod" Arroyo is a rarity in the world of hip hop. Born in Brooklyn and raised in Harlem, FlowGod has naturally acquired the essence of hip hop between 2 of its most prolific origins. He started rapping at the age of 10 and developed an intense passion for it a few years later when he started meeting other rappers and expanding his knowledge and skills.
His influences include Jay Z, Eminem, Fabolous and most importantly his own father.
When FlowGod raps he feels free but in complete control of his thoughts at the same time. He wants to reach people with his music; share his struggle and let people know that he has been through hard times and is living proof that it is possible to drag yourself up from the bottom no matter how hopeless it feels. He wants to instill hope in his fans and let them know that he never gave up and they don't have to either.
FlowGod doesn't feel the need or desire to rap about senseless violence. He writes from the heart about subjects that have great meaning to him and this emotion comes through clearly in every rhyme he spits.
