The simplest way to explain living in the present is to ponder upon what it means to not
be present, as this is the state most have become habitually used to. When we aren’t being
present, we are becoming a victim of time. Our mind gets pulled into either the past or future,
or sometimes both. A good way to break this habit is to discover time for what it is. Besides,
there are numerous benefits attached to trying to live more in the present, believes the
Christian recording artist and faith-based influencer, Radikal Hughes.
The Ohio-native is of the firm opinion that the people of this generation, amidst modern
life, are constantly dashing from one job or event to another. We are repetitively planning
what we have to do next, where we need to be, what we should remember, and whom we
need to call – we are always busy, adds Hughes. Being busy has turned out to become a
badge of honor, he asserts. “We are all occupied. We are all juggling. However, it is crucial
to balance that with time to de-stress and untangle your mind. I live by the thought and
also often suggest others to surrender to what is at the moment. There’s nothing better
than committing to being wherever you are, completely.”
As a believer in the importance of living in the present, Radikal Hughes, by means of social
media, has built an online community of multicultural and multi-generational individuals, to
whom, he offers guidance and help in the areas of self-help, staying positive, and leading a
joyous life. Not only this, Radikal Hughes, so far, has also undertaken a lot of humanitarian
work all around the world, and the finest memory, he recalls, is from Guyana where he
supported a local pastor to serve others. Even now, the recording artist, says, he wants
to make the most of his artistry platform to help improve the lives of others because he
strongly feels, the more present we are, the more contented and calmer we become.
“It is only in the current moment that we truly experience being alive,”
adds Hughes while concluding.
