BLACKCARD MUSIC EXPANDS INTO MUSIC PUBLISHING AFTER STRIKING DEAL WITH PEER MUSIC

Fast growing UK-based music, media and content company BlackCard Music has expanded into music publishing with its second major deal of the year. Effective immediately, the launch of a new joint publishing company with Peer Music will see Peer provide full administrative and creative services on a global basis. The deal covers all future copyrights together with administration of the catalogues acquired by BlackCard Music.

BlackCard Music founder David Connor, who has previously worked alongside Chamillionaire, Bobby Valentino and more says of the deal: “In 2015 we started BlackCard with the sole purpose to put artists, writers and producers first. It is a huge move to partner with Peer on this deal; they are the world’s largest independent publishers, which was a huge attraction for us. I am very excited to have the chance to work with their worldwide team and build a strong and successful relationship across the globe”.

The deal will seek to source up-and-coming songwriters, producers and artists and use BlackCard and Peer Music's unique expertise and influence to secure key signings and develop artistic talent.

Katie London, one of the UK’s most popular unsigned artists and a partner in BlackCard Music, states “I am delighted for us to be in business with Peer, this will allow me to continue to grow as an independent artist and most importantly as an entrepreneur.”

With a history dating back 90 years, Peer Music administers the catalogues of such artists as Buddy Holiday, Mel C, Newton Faulkner, Prince Royce, Gabrielle Aplin and more, and was the first company to publish songs by the Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd.

Label and Development Manager Kevin Reynolds (KRMB Management) said of the deal: “David and the team know their way around a song. This deal has been a long time coming; I’m so pleased that we’ve been able to secure this for BlackCard Music”.
