Pretty Poison has been well known on the Boston and New England streets for several years. She's opened across the region for major artists like DMX, Redman, Method Man, Busta Rhymes, State Property: Beanie Sigel, Philly Freeway and many more.
Today Pretty Poison is re-branding herself as Amaryllis Belladonna, and is promising to go harder, and be more explosive than ever.
Beyond being an award-winning rapper shes also a record label owner, model, actress and businesswoman. To say Pretty Poison has an ear to the streets is an understatement. She grew up in the projects of Roxbury, one of Boston's roughest neighborhoods. This forever connected her to real-life issues and gave birth to her relentless drive to succeed. Receiving such recognition as 2010 and 2013 New England Urban Music Awards “Best Rap Female”, she captivates audiences with a force and style all her own -- blending rap with sounds that are undoubtedly pop and an attitude that is positive yet explosive. [OR positively explosive].
"If you never start you would never begin, and if you never finish, you would never know how it would end." – Amaryllis Belladonna
After being inspired growing up by artists like Tupac, Master P (No Limit Soldier's), Erykah Badu, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, Lauren Hill, Busta Rhymes and many others, her current favorite artist is Cardi B. She is also a big fan of Pop Smoke (RIP). The wide range of taste shows in Amaryllis' music. You can't pinpoint her sound to one genre, shes an amazingly versatile artist who adds new flavor to every song she dishes out.
She's also known for creating Mass Movement, where she consulted, advised and managed several upcoming artists from the region. From getting them into educational seminars on the music business, to teaching them how to publish their music, to getting them airplay and interviews on local and underground radio stations, to helping them get booked for shows, Amaryliss Belladonna has put on for her region in major ways.
Beyond the music, Amaryllis has acted in movies including the “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” Whitney Houston Biopic, “Confess, Fletch”, “Godmothering”, “Defending Jacob”, “Empire” starring Jussie Smollett Terrence Howard and Teraji P. Henson, “Eve” “Equalizer” starring Denzel Washington, and “Daddys Home Two” starring Will Ferrell. She is able to adapt to many different roles and you will see much more of her in the big screen in the future.
She has formerly collaborated with several charitable causes including Stop Hand Gun Violence (across America), Greater Boston Sickle Cell Disease Association, Inc., ( Fin) Father's In Need, Boston Public Library and many other community causes and has taken part in many other charity events. She looks forward to spreading more positivity and having an even bigger cultural impact in her community as her career continues to blossom.
