New Orleans Native, James Compton, 26; or Gemini James, started recording his music in 2015 after his release from Louisiana Department of Corrections after a Robbery conviction in 2012.
His unorthodox approach to his music derived from his variety of tastes ranging from 90s punk like Blink182 and Sum41 to Southern Hiphop, from artists like Lil Wayne, Boosie, and Kevin Gates, to even classics rock artists like the Allemand Brothers and The Steve Miller Band.
Originally, writing songs of a more folk nature, Gemini developed his craft during his 33-month incarceration, and it eventually evolved into what he calls "Happy Rap" or is better know as 'Hip Pop'.
808s and an upbeat undertones lace many of his tracks, including "Tag Along" and "Kamehameha", both on his first album "Don't Clip My Wings" produced by MonstaBeatz.
Determined to be undefined by a genre, Gemini listeners can look forward to hearing music from all sorts of spectrums, ranging from Gangster Rap to Acoustic, bringing a new facet to the Hip Hop and Pop Culture scene.
