When it comes to talent, fans are interested in being entertained and labels are looking for the next seller. JPhreeze captures both the characteristics of a seasoned entertainer and skilled emcee. As a child JPhreeze’s parents encouraged him to be part of his music roots which led him to playing the clarinet, evolving into becoming a saxophone player. But the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. JPhreeze comes from a family of talented musicians and singers that have all played a major part in his musical upbringing. His mother, a talented church choir singer. His older brother, a former emcee, producer and certified engineer. Two sisters that share the talents of being a singer, rapper and break dancer.
Although born in Seattle, his Bremerton roots is where JPhreeze spent most of his teenage years, which brought him together with other neighborhood talents forming the local label, Hustle Style Entertainment. After dropping numerous features, solo projects and mixtapes, the hard work led to a payoff where JPhreeze found himself featured on UGK Records “Kidnap County” compilation project in 2013 along with other label mates. He has since released his sophomore project “Speak Facts,” which displays JPhreezes ability to be diverse over a wide range of production. The street hustling emcee sold more than 100 copies hand to hand after the first few weeks of its release.
Now planted in Tacoma Washington, the northwest rapper has linked with local veteran producers DjSemaj and BlakMic on their Supreme Sound Architects label. JPhreeze is already set to drop an EP produced by the duo, as well as polishing up his first studio album. As things start to quickly progress for the young musician, his motivation, talent and growing popularity will land him in a market of industry worthy rappers.
