Brooklyn native TU Savant is carving out a unique space in hip-hop, blending raw talent with an unwavering mission to uplift the developmental disability community. Diagnosed with Tourette’s syndrome at a young age, TU Savant faced significant challenges, but his love for music provided an outlet. “When I was 13, my dad bought me a beat machine and a tape recorder, and that’s when it all started,” he recalls.
Drawing inspiration from rap icon Jay-Z, TU Savant began crafting his own sound, which he describes as “hip-hop/rap with a twist.” His journey hasn’t been without setbacks, including early industry rejection. Yet, those experiences only fueled his determination to perfect his craft.
Now, as an advocate for those with Autism, Down syndrome, and other disabilities, TU Savant is using his platform to ensure these communities are seen and heard. His current album is gaining traction, and he’s setting his sights on double platinum success. Beyond the music, he dreams of performing internationally and collaborating with industry heavyweights, proving that barriers are meant to be broken.
