Skilled Pop diva Micca (Meek-Uh), bursting out of the "Uptown" area of the Chocolate City Washington DC, is reminding listeners that the beauty of music lies in innovation and diversity. She delivers a new wave by melding Pop, EDM, and Trap music into a multi-faceted genre that has fans eager to hear what’s next from the eclectic songbird.
Micca herself, a proud mixed race individual, is the product of an Afro-Cuban father and a Native American/Polish mother. This cultural diversity is characteristic of the cornucopia that is DC's music scene.
Deriving influence from industry greats like Alanis Morissette, No Doubt, and Toni Braxton, Micca has shaped her own style. Micca is not only a singer, but a dancer, songwriter and proficient drummer as well.
In 2013, Micca started a multifaceted entertainment company Domino Effect; with her songwriting/production partner Billboard Jay. The company is a hub for the duo to offer all of their services to further their career as well as other artists looking for direction.
"The company is a culmination of Micca and I's individual skill sets all under one umbrella" said Billboard Jay. Domino Effect currently offers choreography, video treatment writing, consultation, artist development, songwriting, audio production, and general artist branding. The company’s flagship project is Micca's #BoyzKlubEP (https://soundcloud.com/OFFICIALLYMICCA). The #BoyzKlubEP, dubbed by her team as the "Soundtrack To Freedom", is a game changer according to Billboard Jay. "When you've got one, you've got one. We have a big sound.
The #BoyzKlubEP, produced by Micca herself (along with her business/creative partner Billboard Jay) is chalk full of the contemporary hip-hop, pop, electro, and rock influences. With hard-hitting beats, catchy hooks, and conceptual lyrics to match, Micca addresses taboo subject matter such as human rights, bullying and the general epidemic of violence, the WWE style of government and self-confidence.
Micca's brand is steadily rising. In 2015, Micca was invited to perform for 25,000 people at the LA Lakers vs Wizards game at the Verizon Center in DC as the halftime entertainment (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ya20e9IBZWM).
Micca has also gotten nods from prestigious blogs; including Hot 97's heavy-hitter DJ Enuff. Micca started off 2016 on the Eddie Kayne Show (powered by WLVS DC). She has been featured on Gloss Radio, Ripped Radio, Charity Events, The Hollywood Hangout (powered by Ryze Radio), and the EZ Street Show (powered by WKYS). She has performed at the EZ Street showcase, DMVLife Showcase, SupaTim Show, DMV MegaFest, The Greenlight Festival, Stardom 101 Festival (powered by Stardom 101 Magazine), the opening of the National Cherry Blossom Festival (which she was invited back to next year) and most recently the monthly Mixer Meeting hosted by P-Stew and powered by 93.9 WKYS DC.
According to Micca, "We are just getting started". “Afghanistan”, the first single off of the EP has almost 6,000 YouTube views in 2 months, with minimal promotion. Micca aspires to truly touch her fans hearts and connect in a real way, “What we're after though is interaction, and a real connection with the fans. I want the masses to embrace this brand."
