Nik Hartfield is a singer, dancer, fashionista, and an all-around creative based in New York City. She was born and raised in Hartford, Connecticut. Having a background in the performing arts, she has always been around a creative environment. Training in ballet, African dance, tap, swing dance, jazz, modern/contemporary and hip hop since the age of five, she continues to dance today with every opportunity granted. However, music has always been a "hidden talent" of hers. She grew up singing in the church choir and even had a few solo's at her performing arts center. But she never pursued music professionally until recently.
It was during her professional dance career as a teenager where she fell in love with fashion. Discovered from a dance company photo shoot, she was asked to model for a local fashion designer. From then on, she began to work and network with photographers, designers, stylists, and other models. Soon after graduating high school, and attending Temple University for a year, she realized that it was fashion she wanted to pursue.
"Being someone who has been extremely indecisive on my career path, I feel that music is what I'm meant to do after all. It allows me to utilize and stay involved within all of my passions: music, dance and fashion! I could never chose to do only one out of the three."
With the love and support of God, her family and friends, she remains humble and thankful for every experience, whether good or bad.
Nik's music is a mixture of R&B, Pop, and Electric Soul. With the smooth, soft tones of her voice and the hard-hitting beats, you will get the classic "Nik" sound. She wants to create music that you can just vibe out and relate to. She listens to all types of music but she draws inspiration vocally from artists like Beyonce, Brandy, Jhené Aiko and Aaliyah.
Her debut EP "In My Head" was released in early 2019 and has seen great success throughout the U.S. and internationally! It received major radio play on SiriusXM: Venus and on several radio stations out in the U.K. reaching #10 on the U.K. Urban Charts!
