Riverdale, Georgia might be quiet to some, but the streets are talking, and the name on everybody’s lips is Huncho Markk. Formerly known as UTMR PlugHunxho, the young artist is stepping into a whole new chapter, backed by Swaggertown Records and Colossal Records under the direction of manager Dillon Cash. The name change isn’t just branding, it’s evolution. The hunger? Still the same. The vision? Bigger than ever.
Born Marquavious Bohannon on July 21, 2003, in Atlanta, Huncho was raised on a foundation of real music. His parents had the house ringing with the sounds of Mint Condition, Erykah Badu, and that pure, soulful R&B. That early influence shaped his ear, but as he grew, his playlist expanded. Chris Brown, Future, and Lil Wayne showed him the limitless range of what music could be.
Huncho first made noise in 2021 with his debut single “Pain In My Cup.” It wasn’t just a track, it was a statement. Raw, reflective, and rooted in experience, the song quickly gained traction online. The buzz was organic, fueled by fans connecting with the pain in his pen. That momentum made one thing clear: Huncho had more to say, and a story worth hearing.
Recognizing the need for a new identity to match his growth, he shed the PlugHunxho moniker and reintroduced himself to the world as Huncho Markk. The name reflects maturity, clarity, and direction. Everything he’s embodying as he continues his rise.
2024 marked a major milestone when Huncho hit the stage for the first time at a charity event, teaming up with Dvybez for a performance of “Blessing Me.” First-time jitters? Not even close. He moved like a seasoned performer, showing flashes of what he’s capable of with a mic in hand and a crowd in front of him.
Just months later, he dropped his debut mixtape Humbled Youngin on October 4, a full-bodied introduction to his world. The project blends gritty realism with heartfelt storytelling, showing both the scars and the shine. It’s not just music, it’s testimony.
What separates Huncho Markk from the pack is authenticity. He’s not chasing trends or mimicking sounds. Every verse, every hook, every line, he lives it. His music speaks for the ones trying to turn pain into progress, struggle into strength.
With a solid team behind him, a sharpened focus, and a message that resonates, Huncho is gunning for longevity. He’s chasing stages where the crowd screams every lyric before he even grabs the mic. That’s not a dream, it’s a blueprint.
From the Southside of Georgia to stages across the country, Huncho Markk is moving with purpose, and he’s just getting started.
