-How long have you been in the music industry? I've worked in the music industry since 2001 when I started my first company Elese Entertainment.
-how did that go? I sold over 200,000 copies of my artist CD's. Got a publishing deal, had a few label offers. It was cool.
-So this is not your first rodeo? Naw. I was fortunate to get a few major placements in films and television and the opportunity to work with a few greats like Bruno Mars before he blew. That's was really dope. He's a great person.
-So we hear you do all your own marketing is that correct? Yeah. This music. Business is a very dirty game. There's so many people trying to take advantage of you. I got tired of empty promises and just decided to roll up my sleeves and do the GRUNT work. Lol punt intended.
-How is it you're able to sell so many downloads when others are struggling? I just understand human nature and most importantly why people buy so I cater my marketing strategies to suit the consumers needs and just attach my product so we both win, it's really that simple.
-Give us an example. Alright for instance. Nothing is more important to a person than their birthday. So I invested in 2 huge party buses tricked out with lasers fog machines, flat screen TV's and a crazy sound system. What I do is I give a $5 party to keems fans for their birthday when they buy any of his EP's. Now In Charlotte a party bus can run any where from $500-1000 for 4 hours. So I give Keems fans the bus for $5 and each of their guest just has to download the EP or single as their ticket to get on the bus. They get to party with their friends for next to nothing, they ride around for hours listening to music on a playlist I created with all of today's hottest music & Keems music included of course. They get an inexpensive party bus to party with their friends and I get the downloads direct to their smart phones...everybody wins?
-What's the ultimate goal for Martian Music Group? To be an independent major. I want to be like Diddy, & Dame Dash, better yet I am the new Russell Simmons.
-So does GRUNT promotions take on other clients? Absolutely. It is my goal to be the most effective catalyst for independent artist to come to if they're serious about going to the next level.
- How can artist contact you for help with their projects? The can call the office at 704-699-6885 and set up a meeting. Well listen to the music and see if it's something we can market.
