Singer-songwriter C.LACY from Dallas Texas takes pride in making songs that speak to the heart
and minds of his listeners. He composes his music in a way that people identify, connect and
gravitate towards it.
Growing up in a single-parent family headed by his mother, C.LACY experienced first-hand the
strength of women and the sacrifices single mothers have to make. This gave him an immense
appreciation for women who are often the inspiration for his songs. C.LACY spent his childhood
singing in the church choir and later on around his family and friends in high school and college.
His audience often complimented him on his lyrical prowess and powerful voice. This pushed
him to pursue music professionally.
C.LACY, who believes in being authentic as the key to success has enjoyed immense success in
his career with his release ‘You Can Do Better’ surpassing 1 million streams on Spotify. He also
finished top-five in ‘Who Wants to Make It’ which earned him a spot to perform at the ATL
Awards Weekend Experience which is a dream come true for him. This he believes is brought
about by his fans’ love for his songs.
On his plans, C.LACY is currently working on an EP to be released in late October. He promises
to release his usual heartfelt felt authentic music but with a few surprises too. Although still
aiming to do better, C.LACY believes that he is already successful since he gets to wake up every
day and do what he loves for a living.
To those aspiring to create a career in Music, C.LACY urges them to believe in themselves and
their abilities, surround themselves with a supportive and genuine team, and never lose their
authenticity. “Young people need to understand that success won’t happen overnight. This
grind requires a lot of hard work and dedication”, he concludes.
