DB Tha General is a gangster rapper from Oakland who came up in the dying days of the Hyphy explosion and has since gone on to become one of the city's most distinctive talents. Alas, like so many of his fellow northern Californian gangster rap peers, the combination of the Bay Area underground rap scene being a self-contained universe, internet-unsavvy management, and an unwillingness to give his music away for free has meant that DB has remained largely unknown. That is, beyond being one of rappers Kreayshawn shot videos for back in 2009, and for having a pinched nasal squeal of a voice that's similar to Lil Boosie.
