BIG K.R.I.T. - Live From The Underground : Detroit 1st Stop

Hood Illustrated Blog Posting ... Written By: KC
Hood Illustrated was running late for the 1st stop of Big K.R.IT.’s nationwide tour which started in the city of the #DOPEST Underground artist’s in the game. Opening up the show was Michigan’s own JON CONNOR who has also risen to high acclaim within the last couple years such as K.R.I.T. Unfortunately I missed the set from Jon Connor but it was apparent that his quick witted lyrics made an impression on the fans @ St Andrews. A line up like this first show could go city to city... state to state and sell out – THIS LINEUP IS THE FUTURE OF HIP HOP.
I finally arrived on Congress Ave in Detroit at around 9:30pm and proceeded to enter THE SHELTER. Tito Lopez was at bat closing his set by performing his smash hit “Mama Proud”. He’s one of the realest cats out here; very humble and talented. You can catch Tito Lopez featured in the Down South Section of Issue #7 of Hood Illustrated Magazine. I was instantly impressed with how Tito explained his reason for rhyme several months ago when I approached him about being profiled in the #1 Magazine in the Midwest. The next day; the business was done and since that point I noticed his stock has risen as Capital Records plans on going hard for him and his debut project. Right now “HUNGER GAMES” is the latest project in the streets and a must buy for the consumer who is looking for the next fix.
As for the Main act … BIG K.R.I.T controlled the crowd and reached all the way back in his catalog performing tracks off his first mixtape and the fans in the Shelter acted like it was his new Sh!t… and then when the tracks from his new project were played it felt like the majority of the knew it was them who had written the songs; reciting hits word by word. You would have thought this was the first stop on the tour but by the time they come back to the Murder Mitten on September 28th @ The Intersection in Grand Rapids this tour will be the hottest ticket in the nation. You can check for the full in depth interview with Big K.R.I.T in the October edition of the #1 Hip Hop Magazine Outta the Midwest!!!
S/O to everybody who showed support for Hood Illustrated Magazine and took out the time to take a few flicks… After the show it was promo time and a few unexpected surprises… ran into Hip Hop heavyweights Marv Won, Bizarre, Mr. Porter and Ro Spit… Check out the flicks and share this with everybody u know…… Hip Hop Aint Dead… It Lives In The Hood www.HOODILLUSTRATED.com
