Artists can be dime-a-dozen, but there is only one Hollyhood Tay. Emerging from the Reading music scene in Pennsylvania, Hip Hop recording artist Hollyhood Tay began hitting the ground running in the music realm when she recorded her first song at the age of 12, and since then has manifested into a versatile and multifaceted artist with her own signature sound and stylization, and has no intention of slowing down her momentum anytime soon. Born in Newark, NJ, Tay’s legacy in music started from an early age and developed into an authentically self-taught songwriter, producer and performer that expressed her struggles through music. Known for her charismatic rhyming techniques and dynamic lyrical approach, Tay’s music touches on equal parts originality and familiarity; giving every fan and music listener a balance between an old school sound and today’s mainstream sensibilities. Her music is also reminiscent of personal artist influences, especially industry heavyweight Tupac, an artist her stepfather introduced to her during her pre-teen years that resonated lyrically with Tay’s life at the time that had many trials and tribulations. This set the groundwork for Tay to overcome her odds, make changes in her life to grow into a more positive environment, and ultimately became a cornerstone to her aspirations in music of becoming the artist she is today.
