[Single] Petey Green - Floating
For nearly 10 years, recording artist Petey Green has been a strong creative force in the DMV local music scene. Appearing on the scene with his cousin Trust in hip hop group The 211 Crew, Petey has managed to branch out and form a solo career, focusing on the traditional hip hop basics of using insightful lyrics and visual story-telling abilities, combined with his charismatic energy to draw the listener in to the soundscape of the music which is laid over dope street melodies. While his style is versatile and cannot be officially defined, he sounds most comfortable over melodic beats where he can explore and display his playful and clever lyrics, creative songwriting as well as a soulful singing voice when the track calls for it. Petey has performed along-side many notable artists in the area including Jeremih, Tabi Bonney Ra The MC, and Lambo Anlo he has performed for the Source’s Unsigned Hype Tour, and is a former DMV Award Nominee.
