P. Swagger’s "Where They At": A Track That Brings Fun Back to Hip-Hop

Hip-hop has always been a reflection of the times. In a world where the genre often mirrors societal struggles and personal triumphs, P. Swagger’s new single "Where They At" brings a much-needed shift towards a lighter, celebratory tone. In a climate where the news can feel heavy and overwhelming, Swagger’s track is a breath of fresh air. With its catchy hook and smooth beat, "Where They At" brings listeners back to a time when hip-hop wasn’t just about messages and struggle—it was about having fun and enjoying life.

The track’s upbeat energy and infectious vibe make it an instant party anthem. But beneath its fun exterior, there’s a deeper message about taking time to live and enjoy the moments that matter most. This isn’t just a song—it’s a celebration of life, the beauty of women, and the importance of balance. P. Swagger, who’s spent years navigating the highs and lows of his career, says that "Where They At" is a shoutout to all the beautiful women around the world, a reflection of his journey, and a reminder to always take time to have fun.

Urban$ound Team once again caught up with P. Swagger, this time to dive deeper into the making of the song, his inspirations, and what fans can expect from the future of his music.

  1. What inspired the creation of your single “Where They At”?
It was the vibe, really. My homie M-Status sent me the beat, and I instantly felt like it was the right time to release something that felt good. The world was heavy with tension, and I felt like we needed a song that was just about having fun and enjoying life.
  2. Can you describe the songwriting process for this track?
The process was simple. I’ve been writing for so long that when I catch a vibe, I just run with it. I visualize how the video would look, the mood, and the energy, and then I just start writing. It’s all about tapping into the right feeling.
  3. What themes or messages do you hope listeners take away from “Where They At”?
I want people to remember that, even though there’s a lot of heaviness in the world, it’s important to have fun and live in the moment. The song is also a shoutout to all the women out there, celebrating their beauty and energy.
  4. How did you choose the producers and collaborators for this single?
I chose producers I’ve worked with before—people I know can help me create magic. M-Status and Victory are my go-to guys when I need a hit. I also reached out to DJ Holiday for feedback, and he was immediately on board. It was all about getting the right team together to make this one special.
  5. What does the title “Where They At” signify in the context of the song?
It’s simple: When you go to a new city or place, the first thing you look for is where the beautiful women are at. The song is just tapping into that energy—it’s all about having fun and connecting with the people around you.
  6. How does this song differ from your previous releases?
It’s definitely consistent with my personality and my love for the ladies, but the vibe is different. It’s got more of a retro feel, kind of bringing you back to those good times. It’s fun, it’s light, and it’s not as serious as some of my other tracks.
  7. What was the most challenging part of producing “Where They At”?
The biggest challenge was deciding whether or not we should keep the dirty version. We didn’t want to offend anyone, especially the women, but in the end, it’s all in fun. It’s meant to be playful, not disrespectful.
  8. Can you share any behind-the-scenes moments from the making of the music video?
We haven’t started shooting the video yet, but I’m excited. I plan on working with some of my favorite videographers, Arissa Washington and Champ from the Midwest. They’re both incredible at what they do, and I know the video is going to be fire.
  9. How have fans responded to the single since its release?
The feedback has been great. I’ve had fans from different demographics tell me they love the track. It reminds them of those fun times, and they haven’t heard music like this in a while. That’s what I wanted—something that brings people together and makes them feel good.
  10. What’s next for you after the release of “Where They At”? Are there plans for more music or performances?
We’re rolling this track out big time. I’ve got plans for more music, performances, and hopefully some tours with some of your favorite artists. Stay tuned—there’s a lot more to come.Stream "Where They At" on Spotify
