Tween Artistic Trendy Youthful Adorably Neat New Artist
If you’re glued to Instagram, Twitter or Snapchat like a lot of tweens today, you’re whipping it to the tune of today’s dance craze “Nae Nae” or the “Quan.”

Most little girls are living the selfie life, pinning the coolest in Pinterest trends, and stepping up their style in their favored Air Max, Roche Runs, Nike Free or Converse low-tops, laced with bright spots of color girly vogues.

While her friends are adding summer sleep overs and trending nail colors to their bucket list, Tatyanna Oden has decided to skip the fun during school break, to pursue her dream of becoming a recording artist. The 11-year old is taking time to prepare to step out in the spotlight and introduce a new set of moves on her debut hip-pop song, “Everybody Watch Me.” The ultimate girly girl, this perky newcomer shines on “Everybody Watch Me” to deliver a fun, catchy track, giving it that extra touch with a sound reminiscent of her animated style. Creatively, she flows like a little star mixing sassy lyrics wisely blended around hip hop beats as she demonstrates moves to the dance-themed “clapping game,” which she plays with her best friends and school mates, that she smartly crafted into a song.

Describing the dance, she sings with youthful innocence, “Lemonade/Ice cream/Everybody watch me/Turn around and touch the ground/Break it down now freeze/You're it!/Like playing tag/I say you're it/I can bring MC Hammer back/I'm so legit.” Feeling super cute, she goes on to make it known, “My Nae Nae so clean/Want to see it again/Look at my fit y'all/I set the new trends /My mug is so sweet/Bet they want to be me/They can't take my spot/They not up here with me …..

My music fits my personality,” she explains. “It’s definitely new trend that all ages can enjoy and dance to.” Though her mother recalls her daughter’s early childhood memorizing lyrics to songs being played on the radio on just one listen, adorably, the little protégé lets you in on her secret. “Studying the backgrounds and watching videos of her favorite music idols – “Beyoncé (because she’s a great singer) and Drake (she admires his ability to deliver different genres of music),” she admits. When asked whom she compares herself to, confidently, she lets you know, “a little Nicki Minaj.” Move over Silento, IHeart and DLOW, there’s a new kid on the block. And though she be but little – she is fierce!

Tatyanna praises her mom for seeking out the professional advice of Atlanta-based super-producer Christopher Starr to help steer her career. Starr, Founder of CSP Music Group is no newcomer to the business of music. He has worked with some of the most recognized award-winning clients like Mary J. Blige, Christina Aguilera and Chris Brown. Teaming with his studio engineer Bishop, the pair took Tatyanna under their wing to guide her in the process of molding her song – which resulted in recording her first debut single, available on Starr’s independent label, Mason J Records. “When I first heard the beat I knew it was the right track for the clapping game,” she says with excitement.

On hearing the maturity in her words as she elaborates on “Everybody Watch Me,” and shares her vision of what it takes to step into the business of music to become an artist, it has you wonder where, at such a young age, does her sharp knowledge of the industry and understanding of the recording process stem from.

Born in Sylacauga, Alabama, in 2004, Tatyanna was raised by her mother, a licensed practical nurse and father, a correctional officer, who provided her with a strong foundation. Her parents always encouraged their daughter to use her talents artistically to pursue her goals and dreams. A super-achiever since the age of 6, in 2016 Tatyanna was recognized for her academic achievements with the “President’s Award,” presented by President Barak Obama. When asked about this prestigious honor her face lights up as she recounts that “it brought her joyful tears.” Quite impressive for an 11-year old, who also served on her school’s Student Government Association. When Tatyanna’s not spending time promoting her music and gearing up for her first year as a 6th grader at Drew Middle School, she spends time doing things little girls are made of – modeling, shopping, swimming, dancing and, not surprisingly for an adventurous one, hooking fish! In between it all she makes sure she gets time in doing what she likes most: playing Madden 16 Football and NBA213 Basketball on her computer sports sites.

And for those “friends” who doubted her word of becoming an artist, she keeps in mind: “If they hating on you It's only cause you hot/…/If they hating on you It's cause they want your spot.” She goes on to make believers out of those non-believers, appropriately reminding them: “My Nae Nae so clean/Want to see it again/Look at my fit y'all/I set the new trends /…Bet they want to be me/They can't take my spot/They not up here with me … Like the words instilled in her by her parents, Tatyanna plans to use her platform as an artist to encourage other little boys and girls “to believe in yourself and never give up on your dreams.”

Don’t be surprised to see Tatyanna Oden as part of today’s pop culture movement to inspire the next dance craze frenzy that’s been sweeping the nation. Or, dancing with the stars - clapping, singing and simply knowing how to play the game!
