Houey Freeman - "Neon" ft. Jenezy

Many Hip Hop fans have grown to know the BOHUP crew. For those who don’t know, BOHUP is THE BAND OF THE HAWK UNDERGROUND PYRAMID. Lead by Noah Archangel, this group of creators has been consistently dropping new music and visuals since they exploded on the scene in 2013. What many fans don’t know is that Noah has an adopted little brother who is also his protégé. Enter Houey Freeman, formerly known as Ash Ra, also formerly known as Ashtonomics.

Remember “Dirty Dolla$”? Yeah, that was Houey Freeman on the mic and the boards. How about “The Emerald Tablets”? Another classic completely produced by Houey. He has always been in the Hawk’s shadows, but now he is stepping into the light with his own project “JADED”.

To give his fans a heads up and a head nod, Houey dropped “BOUNCE” in August and just dropped “NEON” today. These 2 singles differentiate his sound from the 90’s Boom Bap of The Band of the Hawk, and slaps the listener with a fresh sound ranging from the down and dirty bounce sound of New Orleans to the eclectic EDM sound of Los Angeles, and that is only the first 2 singles. Houey Freeman is sure to give us a gumbo of sounds for his full length release JADED, but until then munch on BOUNCE and NEON to hold your appetite until it drops. Also, if you did not get a chance to listen to “9ET” by Ash Ra, you probably should before JADED drops. Peace and #BOHUP
