   "GO DJ!! GO DJ!!" was at one point the most popular phrase yelled at live hip hop shows (we are talking 15-20 years pre-famed Lil Wayne song).  Now, to be a dj, many just have a laptop with a large memory. And a good program and DAW turntable, which together...do all of the work.

    So when we say let us introduce you to Philly Based DJ-SUN...this is not what we are describing. We are talking about style, charisma, character, real turn tables...and SCRATCHING. Now when it comes to hip hop, the Dj was once the most important piece. As he had to make continual loops. Scratch at a moments notice and not throw off the rhythm. And help in keeping the performing artist level. The dj's position was critical...and his timing had to be amazing.

    Long those days have passed as the digital era made everyone suddenly know and take an interest in everything. But DJ-SUN has remained true to his art and love of real hip hop and its creation. From bumping block rocking house parties to hip hop venues, if the essence of hip hop's culture is in the building...DJ-SUN is most likely providing the soundtrack to the evening. His amazing ability to work the tables has made his craft one of the most spoken on when discussing the East Coast's underground DJ's. 

    He keeps the crowd moving and delivers and energy through his performance that almost shakes the structure of the venues. He continues to find any avenue he can to present his craft to the culture. Having recently released his beat project "MOVES", he shows his talents continue to grow as he continues to grow as a creative entity.

 

    "MOVES", a beat tape, deserves honorable mention. DJ-SUN put together some strong pieces of hip hop here. He touched a few levels of beat creation here from hip hop's history up to today. He has some real raw hip hop flow instrumentals. Some up tempo chopper style beats, even a few where he meshed a feel of today's rap-pop-trap music, with a vibe of yesterday's hip hop sound. Creating a whole new sound in itself. DJ-SUN will only continue to grow in his production ability and I eventually see him as being part of a culture changing back to a time where what you said and what you were saying it over, was more important than your twitter following.
