After releasing his debut tape My 2c, BrYonge didn't stop his creative process. Only 6 months later, he has dropped a new full-length project. Now it's time for Fresh for No Reason, an album featuring 10 new tracks. The exciting thing about this work is definitely the fact that each song explores adifferent creative direct, tapping into different influences and ideas. Literally, said by BrYonge himself, he made this album for no reason. He just did it.
Opening number "Up At Night" begins with a beautiful arpeggio melody, with a mellow synth tone, rich and direct. The powerful bass then brings a special appeal to the track.
This introductory song gives the listener a good taste of the album's mood, but there are different vibes. One of my favorite tracks on this release is Not True. A darker song with haunting piano chords. The beat is the quintessential trap 808 sound, with massive kicks, soaring snares and rhythmic hats. The vocals are on top of the track, highlighting BrYonge's unique tone and vision.
Earth n Back is also one that caught my attention. This track will stand the test of time. The beat works very well with Princes's voice.
As an album, Fresh For No Reason is a great combination of fresh delivery, cool vocal hooks, with some dynamic beats and next level melodies that will immediately resonate with listeners. The songs I mentioned above are only some of the most notable album tracks in my personal opinion, but there is so much more to chose from. Even the artwork is really intriguing and meaningful. It pays respect to a childhood friend and a grandfather figure. These two people inspired BrYonge to make music. Thanks to them, we can enjoy this release today.
