Nigerian musician Preachermafioso annnouces his upcoming project “Black Hibiscus” and talks new music

Collins Ero, better known as Preachermafioso or Yoso is a Nigerian musician, producer and songwriter. Born on Aug 7th in the mid 80’s, he is a younger twin in a family of 5.

 

 

Yoso started his music journey at a very young age. In the early 90s his father also an ardent music lover would play tons of VynlLPS from legends like Cool & the Gang, Fela Kuti, Marvin Gaye, Johnny Nash, Michael Jackson, Bongos ikwe, Jimmy Rex Lawson, Shalamar etc.

 

In 1993 an older cousin introduced Yoso to the phenomenal Hiphop group from Cleaveland, at the time signed under Easy-E’s Ruthless Record; Bone Thugs-n-Harmony. Christopher Wallace, Tupac Amaru Shakur, Jay-Z Fugees, Nas, Kirk Franklin etc, icons were going to deeply influence his style of music.

Although a christian, the death of his baby sister and twin brother Chris or Chrixtox left a huge dent in Yoso, which is mostly reflected in the content of his songs. (Life, Struggles, Purpose, Salvation, Death ) 

 

He garnered has streams of monikers from Yoso, Preacher or The Black Hibiscus, and has been an ambassador of Afrocentrism with his music and fashion sense and lifestyle, 

With the current surge of Afrobeat music/AfroHiphop he works relentlessly on being a part of the catalyst for the global take over that looms

 

What sets him apart is his distinctive blend of smooth narratives lines, witty lyrical content and of course wavy Afro dance vibes. Yoso is currently working on his sophomore Mixtape dubbed “Black Hibiscus” featuring Toro and  the hit Single  iNvincible which he teamed up with Raspy of the Swanballaz Crew.
