When it comes to the struggle, you either lived it or you haven’t — and this underground artist with a story to tell goes by the name of $PROFIT. Raised in the small tourist city of South Haven, Michigan, he’s lived through real struggle, using his drive and relentless pursuit to carve out a name in the music industry. Influenced by legends such as 2Pac, T.I., and Scarface, $PROFIT transformed hardship into motivation, turning life’s obstacles into lyrical fuel and developing his craft through years of dedication.

After performing at local events, $PROFIT began gaining recognition within the Detroit Hip-Hop scene, quickly catching the attention of both audiences and industry figures. His breakthrough came with the hit single “Dance for My DJ” from the collaborative project We Finally Did It, which sold nearly 10,000 copies — solidifying his position as a rising independent artist.

Throughout his journey, $PROFIT has worked alongside major companies such as Sony, Urban Stone Music Group, FKNG Vodka Inc., and Empire Distribution. His debut studio album, SITUATIONS (2014), marked the beginning of a string of independent successes. Collaborations with professionals like TWC, John T. Brown Jr., and Ashley Burnett Brown of B&B Marketing Management — who have also worked with BET and Soldier Boy’s SODMG — expanded his network and influence in the industry.

With a growing reputation, $PROFIT has performed in major cities including Miami, Tampa, Detroit, Atlanta, and Chicago. Building on that momentum, he founded his own label, SwaggaBoy ENT, and secured a sponsorship agreement with Marva Morris, CEO of ZenEdge Energy Drink.

In February 2021, $PROFIT released My Environment Project, continuing to evolve his sound and reach. Currently, he is in production on his third studio album, “951,” scheduled for release in fall 2025.
